The winemaker's word
"To drink a Morgon Réserve Louis Leyre-Loup is to experiment how much old oak barrels ageing brings roundness and a silky touch to the wine.
Without any wooden taste, which would corrupt the wine, micro-oxygenation seems to bring more ripeness to the aromas and to reinforce concentrations. Angels took their share; men will get theirs that is made of an intensity where tannins and aromas pair to turn to the palate.
A sheer tasting!"

REVIEWS
Powerful tannins mark this wine, giving it power and structure. Dense, and with a fine blend of a dry core and spicy black fruits, the wine is worth aging further. Drink from 2024." Wine Enthusiast, 93/100 (2019 vintage)
"A well-matured Morgon from a very good vintage that stillhas quite a firm structure and healthy mineral acidity. And there’s also some surprisingly youthful raspberry fruit. Long, lively finish that suggest this has some more years of life in it. Sustainable. Drink or hold." James Suckling 92/100 (2017 vintage)
“Another weightlifter’s bottle. Medium, medium-plus colour.
A very pretty nose indeed – dark-red fruit and flowers.
Hmm – fresh, almost no texture, just clean fresh lines of flavour.
This slowly grows in the mouth adding a faint baseline of tannin and just a little cushioning, but this is really excellent wine with a very fine and growing flavour that is simply a very lovely thing. Bravo!”
