MORGON Réserve Louis Leyre-Loup 2019

This is showing complex aromas of cloves, row mushrooms, smoked tea and red berry fruit. It's well integrated on the palate , medium-bodied, with fine-grained tannins and a long and firm finish. Drink or hold.

This excellent Morgon is brimming with violets and fresh cherry fruit. It has the generosity of the vintage, but remains medium-bodied, with a lovely freshness and crisp, restrained tannins that lighten the long, quite stony finish. Drink or hold.

FLEURIE Réserve Louis Leyre-Loup 2019

This elegant and beautifully balanced Fleurie has stacks of fine tannins that give it a wonderfully silky texture on the concentrated medium-bodied palate. Very long textural finish that retains a light touch. Matured for 18 months in used oak casks. Sustainable. Drink or hold.

MORGON Réserve Louis Leyre-Loup 2017

A well-matured Morgon from a very good vintage that still has quite a firm structure and healthy mineral acidity. And there’s also some surprisingly youthful raspberry fruit. Long, lively finish that suggest this has some more years of life in it. Sustainable. Drink or hold.

FLEURIE Domaine de Leyre-Loup 2020

On the nose this is unusually spicy for this appellation, but on the palate there’s plenty of juicy and delicate red berryfruit and some nice tannins that give it both warmth and depth. Very clean silky finish. Sustainable. Drink or hold.

MORGON Domaine de Leyre-Loup 2020

If you ever wondered what a red wine with an aroma of violets smells like, here’s a very attractive example. For the very warm, dry year this is restrained and elegant with abright red fruit character on the fresh, medium-bodied palate. Long clean, quite crisp finish. Drink or hold.
